Don Fontenot et Les Amis De La Louisiane have been performing in Cajun country since 1995. In addition to playing at local restaurants and night clubs, this CFMA award winning band also performs at festivals in and out of Louisiana. While concentrating on traditional music, the band attempts to add a little "spice" and "flare" to each performance. Whether it be amongst a crowd of dancers, during a song or with the audience during a break, the band feels that interacting with fans is a necessary and vital part of the entire Cajun experience. Never knowing what to expect during a performance only adds to the anticipation of another appearance.

They look forward to bringing theirmusic to other parts of the U.S. in the future.
This year the Cajun French Music Association selected Don Fontenot et Les Amis De La Louisiane as the best in Cajun music in four areas. A cut from their new CD, The Porch Swing, written by Ellis Deshotels was voted Song of the Year and Don,himself, was chosen Male Vocalist of the Year. Their CD, Le Necessaire, was voted Best Recording and the band was picked as Best Band of the Year. The band feels very honored and is very excited by these awards and feels that any accolades go to their fans. It is their heritage that inspires them and their fans that motivate them.
